No. The medical insurance coverage for international students is limited to public hospitals within the territory of the People's Republic of China.

2. I already have other insurance in China. Do I need to buy more?

Students coming to China need to buy insurance.

3. Does the school provide accommodation? Can students live off-campus?

The school provides accommodation, and students can choose to live on or off campus.

4. What are the safety precautions during residence?

Anti-theft: Always lock doors and windows when leaving the room, store valuables separately and lock them, and do not bring strangers into the dormitory.

Fire Prevention: The use of non-compliant electrical appliances such as electric blankets and heaters is strictly prohibited. All power sources must be turned off before leaving. Do not bring electric vehicle batteries indoors for charging. Familiarize yourself with the fire escape routes.

Personal security: Change passwords for bank cards and mobile phones regularly, do not disclose ID numbers or bank account information casually, and be vigilant against suspicious calls or messages requesting transfers or personal data.

5. What are the special points to pay attention to in China's traffic rules?

China implements right-side traffic, with the driver's seat on the left. Pedestrians must walk on the sidewalk, and electric bicycles, tricycles, and other vehicles must be registered before they can be driven on the road. When taking public transportation, buses follow the rule of "boarding through the front door and alighting through the rear door," and loud talking and eating are prohibited on the subway. It is recommended to check the detailed regulations on the official website of the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China.

6. How to make convenient payments in China? Can I use foreign bank cards?

The mainstream payment method in China is mobile payment, with WeChat Pay and Alipay being the two most commonly used platforms. International students can apply for a savings card at Chinese banks (such as Bank of China and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China) with their passports, bind the bank card, and activate the mobile payment function. This allows them to pay by scanning the QR code in most places, such as shopping malls, restaurants, and convenience stores. Foreign bank cards (such as Visa and MasterCard) can be used in some large hotels and duty-free shops at international airports, but they have limited support for daily small-amount transactions and may incur cross-border fees. It is recommended to prioritize domestic mobile payment or savings cards.

7. How to handle a lost bank card or unauthorized transactions?

First, immediately contact your bank's customer service hotline (e.g., Bank of China: 95566; Industrial and Commercial Bank of China: 95588) to report the loss, providing your identity details and account information to prevent further financial loss. Within 24 hours, visit the branch where you opened the account with your passport and residence permit to complete the formal loss report. Some banks offer online replacement of physical cards, with new cards typically mailed to your registered address within 7 business days. In case of unauthorized transactions, retain transaction screenshots and loss report documents, submit a fraud complaint to the bank, and file a police report with 110 (China's emergency number) for a receipt as supplementary evidence. After obtaining a new card, promptly update all linked mobile payment and auto-debit services.

8. How to apply for a mobile SIM card and data plan? What should I keep in mind?

To obtain a mobile SIM card, visit any China Mobile, China Unicom, or China Telecom branch with your passport. You can choose from various plans including domestic call minutes and data (divided into standard and targeted data), typically costing 50-100 RMB monthly. Important notes: 1) Complete real-name registration and verify plan validity with international roaming options (available for cross-border calls with family members); 2) Bring your ID (if applicable) or passport when canceling service to avoid credit deductions from unpaid bills.

9. Can international students work part-time or intern?

International students who have completed one year of continuous study without misconduct, with satisfactory academic performance and attendance, may engage in work-study programs upon approval by the college and the International College Office. The work must be related to their major and must not involve toxic, hazardous, or dangerous activities. The work location must be on campus, with a maximum weekly working time of eight hours, and work-study insurance must be purchased. If the college arranges on-campus or off-campus internships, students must comply with the college's arrangements. Additionally, students are prohibited from engaging in any off-campus part-time jobs, internships, or other extracurricular activities, as such violations may result in substantial fines.

10. Will the school arrange a pick-up for me after I arrive in Chengdu?

Our school does not provide airport pickup services. Please arrive at the school according to the guide. You may choose taxis, ride-hailing services, or subways. If you opt for a taxi, please select a legally operating taxi.
